Lady in Red
This is a portrait I did in a workshop lately – isn’t she beautiful. I called her “Lady in red” – I hope you like her. I think it is one of the best portraits I have done so far – I was quite pleased for a change – I am not usually happy with things – the whole painting went smoothly and I finished it in the workshop -just a few minor changes to the neck and she was done.
She is a distant cousin of My Lady in Pink
Comments please!

This is a portrait of my mother as a young woman. I did it from a very old black and white photograph done in the 60’s! This painting is so very different from the pencil and graphite sketch I did of the Old Man of the Sea, but so were the subjects -her face is a much smoother subject and I felt I could not give it the graphite treatment really – oil on board felt like a better medium to express her in. Anyway she enjoyed receiving this painting for her 82nd birthday. Your comments would be most welcome.
